About This Release
A second Not Two album by the Motion Trio of Portuguese tenor saxophonist Rodrigo Amado, with cellist Miguel Mira and drummer Gabriel Ferrandini, following The Flame Alphabet. Released in 2016, Desire & Freedom continues the working group's distinctive sax-cello-drums chemistry, the bassless instrumentation lending an open grain to Amado's warm, robust tenor and the trio's deeply interactive collective sound.
