A quartet recording uniting Portuguese tenor saxophonist Rodrigo Amado with three leading American improvisers: multi-instrumentalist Joe McPhee, bassist Kent Kessler and drummer Chris Corsano. Released by Not Two in 2015, "This Is Our Language" documents a powerful trans-Atlantic group — sometimes billed simply as 'This Is Our Language' — that became one of Amado's most acclaimed projects, its title affirming free improvisation as a shared idiom across borders and generations.
