Eklisia Sunday

by Konstrukt, Peter Brötzmann
About This Release

A live recording of the Turkish group Konstrukt with German free-jazz icon Peter Brötzmann as featured guest, captured in May 2011 at Eklisia — a 17th-century chapel in the village of Gümüşlük near Bodrum on the Turkish coast. Released by Not Two in 2013, Eklisia Sunday documents the meeting of Brötzmann's volcanic energy with the psychedelic, Anatolian-inflected free music of Konstrukt before a small, enthusiastic audience, a vivid example of the label's reach into improvised-music scenes far beyond Europe's centres.
