A live trio recording uniting German free-jazz titan Peter Brötzmann with two masters of Japanese jazz, pianist Masahiko Satoh and drummer Takeo Moriyama, captured at the Manggha Hall in Kraków in November 2011. Named for the three-legged crow god of Japanese mythology, Yatagarasu documents a relatively rare meeting — Brötzmann seldom recorded with pianists — that ranges from feverish, hurricane-force intensity to spacious lyricism. The concert, around the time of Brötzmann's 70th birthday, was hailed as a highlight of the year's Kraków Jazz Autumn.
