Fújj szél, Zenta, visshangozz szél

by Szilárd Mezei Vocal Ensemble
About This Release

A work for vocal ensemble by Szilárd Mezei, whose title invokes Zenta (Senta), the Vojvodina town of his birth, where Hungarian is widely spoken. Featuring the voice of his sister Kinga Mezei amid a ten-piece group of reeds, brass and rhythm, Fújj szél, Zenta, visshangozz szél (Blow Wind, Zenta, Echo Wind!) sets Hungarian-language poetry in a fuller, more direct and at times solemn register than his usual instrumental work. Released by Not Two in 2012, it is among the most personal and unusual entries in his catalog.
