The full studio document of Resonance, the inaugural recording of Ken Vandermark's large ensemble, conceived with Marek Winiarski as a way to gather the many Polish and European musicians Vandermark had met on tour into one band. Across its program the group nods to an unusually wide span of jazz history — from Sonny Rollins and Stan Kenton to Cecil Taylor — Vandermark's writing framing a ten-piece cast of horns, tuba, bass, drums and electronics. The project that would yield four further albums begins here.
