A meeting of Chicago reed player Ken Vandermark with Italian improvisers including saxophonist Stefano Ferrian. Released by Not Two in 2015, Rare Avis documents a trans-Atlantic encounter between Vandermark and players from the younger Italian free-jazz scene, with which the label maintained a strong connection.
