About This Release
A group led by multi-instrumentalist Joe McPhee with trombonist Jeb Bishop, bassist Ingebrigt Håker Flaten and others. Released by Not Two in 2011, Ibsen's Ghosts brings together a transatlantic cast of improvisers for a program of open, collective music, one of the many McPhee-led projects that anchor the label's American roster.

Critical Reception
...the four still manage to maintain a contrapuntal; balance in their playing, even though it soon becomes obvious that nearly every timbre and tone from each of the four instruments is constantly in motion.
