A UIŠ ?

A recording by the Jubileum Quartet, built around two giants of European free improvisation — French bassist Joëlle Léandre and British saxophone master Evan Parker — joined by Catalan pianist Agustí Fernández and Slovenian percussionist Zlatko Kaučič. The album was recorded live at the Cerkno Jazz Festival in Slovenia in May 2018, where the quartet had been assembled to mark Kaučič's 40th anniversary as a professional musician. Its single 45-minute piece is wholly improvised, the players' long histories — Parker's reaching back to the music's foundations in the late 1960s — audible in the density and poise of the collective playing. The title is Slovenian, glossed by one reviewer as roughly 'and you go.'
