A vinyl release connecting Swedish Azz — Mats Gustafsson and Per-Åke Holmlander's group dedicated to classic Swedish jazz — with the legacy of saxophonist Gilbert Holmström, a key figure of the 1960s Swedish scene whose sextet recorded landmark sessions of that era. Fåglarna extends the band's loving reinterpretation of its national jazz heritage through the lens of contemporary free improvisation.
