A live recording by Survival Unit III — multi-instrumentalist Joe McPhee on saxophone and pocket trumpet, Fred Lonberg‑Holm on cello and electronics, and Michael Zerang on drums — captured in Paris in 2010. Released by Not Two in 2013, Game Theory documents a long-running trio that wraps each player's sound around the others in unconventional ways, McPhee's vocal reeds meeting Lonberg-Holm's amplified cello and Zerang's resourceful percussion in deeply communicative free improvisation.
