An album by the trio of alto and tenor saxophonist Avram Fefer with the formidable rhythm section of bassist Eric Revis and drummer Chad Taylor. Following the trio's Ritual, Eliyahu (2011) takes its title from Fefer's late father and the values he tried to pass on; the music brims with soul, blues and African rhythm over a relentless, often hypnotic foundation, the leader's warm lyricism radiating joy and the love of life. One of the most immediately engaging entries in the label's American roster.
