A trio recording led by Brazilian saxophonist Ivo Perelman with violinist Rosie Hertlein and bassist Dominic Duval. Released by Not Two in 2010, Near to the Wild Heart — its title drawn from the debut novel of the Brazilian writer Clarice Lispector — reflects Perelman's literary sensibility and the unusual chamber texture of saxophone, violin and bass in free dialogue.
