About This Release
An album by Ma-Do, one of pianist-composer Satoko Fujii's working quartets, with trumpeter Natsuki Tamura, bassist Norikatsu Koreyasu and drummer Akira Horikoshi. Heat Wave (2008) was the group's debut, exploring the quieter, more acoustic and texturally subtle side of Fujii's vast output, where notated composition and free improvisation meet folk and classical colours. Part of the prolific Japanese artist's continuing relationship with Not Two.
