A collaborative recording uniting two formidable working trios: the DKV Trio (Hamid Drake, Kent Kessler, Ken Vandermark) and the Scandinavian power trio The Thing (Mats Gustafsson, Ingebrigt Håker Flaten, Paal Nilssen-Love). Released by Not Two in 2016, Collider brings these six musicians together in a high-energy double-trio summit, a meeting of two of the most powerful units in contemporary free jazz, drawn from the deep web of Chicago–Scandinavian collaboration in the label's orbit.
