About This Release

A duo of piano and percussion: Catalan pianist Agustí Fernández — a frequent partner of Evan Parker and Barry Guy — with Slovenian percussionist Zlatko Kaučič. Released by Not Two in 2014, Sonic Party is a closely attentive meeting in which Fernández's inside-the-piano attack and Kaučič's textural drumming continually reshape each other, two improvisers thinking aloud together.
