A live duo from Ljubljana uniting two pioneering women of improvised music: French double bassist Joëlle Léandre and American vocalist Lauren Newton, long associated with the Vienna Art Orchestra. Léandre, who came up through new music — working with John Cage and Merce Cunningham before becoming one of free improvisation's defining bassists — here meets Newton in an extraordinary dialogue, the bass scraping, singing and rumbling in uncanny imitative rapport with the voice's wide-ranging extended technique. Released by Not Two in 2012.
