About This Release
A live duo recording uniting British saxophone master Evan Parker with Catalan pianist Agustí Fernández, captured in Barcelona in 2009. The two had first recorded together in 1995 and were longtime partners, Fernández having joined both Parker's Electro-Acoustic Ensemble and Barry Guy's New Orchestra. Each plays one solo turn before the duo dialogue; the concert itself was a rescheduled make-up date after a violent storm flooded the original open-air venue. The Voice is One captures two master improvisers in deeply attuned conversation.
