Interzone plays with Adam Pierończyk captures one of the most fully realized encounters within Interzone’s long‑running trans‑European project—a cultural network created by pianist Mircea Tiberian, bassist Horst Nonnenmacher, and drummer Maurice de Martin as a meeting ground for jazz, contemporary classical language, and the folk traditions of Central and Eastern Europe.

Over more than thirty tours, Interzone invited dozens of guest soloists into its border‑crossing framework; here the guest is Adam Pierończyk, one of the “founding fathers” of Not Two and, together with Leszek Możdżer, among the first musicians ever documented by the label. His sculpted tone, flexible phrasing, and instinct for open‑form improvisation make him a natural fit for Interzone’s shifting architecture.
