A live duo for two double basses, generations apart: Joëlle Léandre — among the most commanding voices on the instrument in contemporary improvised and new music — with the younger bassist Vinicius Cajado. Released by Not Two in 2023, Storm Dance is a freely improvised conversation that moves from delicate, close-grained interplay to the turbulence its title promises, the two basses by turns echoing and colliding.
